Deixo aqui um guia muito completo para o uso correcto das Catapultas:
The following figures assume that the target has no wall or defensive troops.
The figures show that making a single large attack upon a wall requires far more catapults than if it is done incrementally in smaller attacks of two or more catapults, which do not require any escort.

After demolishing my neighbour a couple of times, I found that everything ran smoothly except when:
* the change in morale from constructing new buildings in my own village while destroying buildings in his was great enough to cause one additional catapult to be required per attack causing most of a set of attacks to bounce.
* I reduced the size of a subsequent attack (as the target would be of a lower level due to the preceding attacks despatched mere seconds beforehand) one attack too soon, and thus all subsequent attacks in that wave against that building failed, as they were all too small.
I have thirty catapults, which means that when I launch an attack wave, against
a typical target with no wall, it would look like:
200 light cavalry <- (To clean up before the catapults hit, sent later so that
they arrive just before the catapults.)
4 catapults <- (First target, level 8 -> destroyed)
3 catapults
3 catapults
3 catapults
3 catapults
2 catapults
2 catapults
2 catapults
4 catapults <- ( Second target, level 8 -> 6)
3 catapults, 2 scouts <- ( You can include scouts in all attacks if you like, but
make sure you stick some in the last catapult attack
so that you can survey the damage you have wrought, or
help you work out why it went pear-shaped. :D )
Which leaves me with one solitary catapult sitting in my base unused, and ten
waves of catapults sent off, with no troop escort, over the space of 2 minutes,
followed a little later by the clean-up crew to mop up any last minute troops
that were built/supported the target since the last scout report.
Another thing to try is sending all your catapults off in the first attack, and
setting them to attack the walls, along with all your rams. I found it a very
effective way to utterly destroy an opponents wall in a single attack.
